Stoke House is a Grade II Listed, three-storey, detached building previously used as office accommodation and has been vacant since October 2012.
The site is located on the corner of Grays Park Road and Stoke Green, within the Stoke Green Conservation Area, with access to public transport, local amenities and infrastructure. Access to the site is off Grays Park Road with a brick wall and fencing surrounding the site along with mature trees and vegetation.
Mackenzie Homes have applied for planning to improve upon the original planning approval design which had a fundamental design issue and the approved layout had several inner (habitable rooms above ground floor level (above 4.5m from ground level) which is not permissible under the Approved Document B. Mackenzie Homes are committed to ensuring the long term viability of this heritage asset with due regard to national and local planning policies and guidance. The proposal will secure the long term preservation and enhancement of the Grade II Listed Building (Stoke House). The enhancements to the exterior of Stoke House and surrounding soft landscaping will improve the setting of the Conservation Area and the proposal ensures the openness of the greenbelt is preserved.
